AMY: [00:00:02] All right. We're recording. Hi everyone. Welcome back to our Community Spotlight. Thanks for checking us out this month. My name is Amy Harrold. I'm the community manager at Enterprise here in Greenwood Village. And today I'm sitting down to talk with Anna and Sam about their company Design Elements. Thank you guys so much for sitting down with me today. Let's start by telling us a little bit about your company and what you do.

ANNA: [00:00:34] Thanks for having us. I'm Anna and we are an interior design firm, and we relocated our firm from Chicago, where we were for decades, about three years ago, and have been doing primarily residential high end residential interiors for the past three years in the greater Denver area.

AMY: [00:00:57] Awesome. Let's see, what makes your company different from other companies in your field other than, you know, you've been doing this for such a long time.

ANNA: [00:01:09] Yeah, we have been doing it for a long time, and I think that we have a unique ability to have an arsenal of really talented crafts people that we work with. Everybody from soft custom workrooms to custom furniture builders and partners who do specialized interior trims and metals, and a variety of unexpected details that we bring to a home.

AMY: [00:01:43] And now are these connections that you've made, you know, throughout your career and just, you know, built over time?

ANNA: [00:01:52] Some are. Some we're still working with in various locations throughout the country, and some we've been able to establish since we have been working in Denver. There are some really talented and inspiring people in our community.

AMY: [00:02:09] That's great. Let's see, now, I don't know, did you guys bring any samples or anything to kind of show show off some of your work?

ANNA: [00:02:22] No, no, no. You can find us. We've been published and have been part of the Denver's top designers for the past two years. So you can find our work by following that link.

AMY: [00:02:37] Okay. Perfect. And I'll be sure to put a link to it in the underneath the video. Okay. So people can go to that. And then you were telling me you recently received an award for your designs.

ANNA: [00:02:54] Yeah, we've been published a couple times, and we're just recently added for the second year in a row to the top designers for the Denver area.

AMY: [00:03:04] That's awesome. Congratulations to you both for that. And then what made you choose Enterprise Coworking and how are you liking the space? How's it working for you and your business?

ANNA: [00:03:20] Sam.

SAM: [00:03:22] I mean, think just been touring here and whatnot. We found it to be very welcoming and very open in a way that a lot of other spaces aren't, and think there's a bigger emphasis on a community focus and getting to know the other people in the office a lot better. And I think that's really important for a positive work environment.

AMY: [00:03:41] Yeah, absolutely. That's great. Um, and then speaking directly to any of our members that are watching this, what would you like to tell them about your company or, um, how can they find out more if they, you know, want to hire you guys?

ANNA: [00:04:06] So we don't have a website. We've been super fortunate in our entirety in the last decades to do everything by word of mouth. We have many, many repeat customers all over the country and have done everything from second leg homes and mountain houses to primary residences. So anybody who wants to work with us, I think we would tell them is designers while we are an expense, we actually typically save people money. Everybody likes a lot of things. Sometimes we like modern, sometimes we like contemporary. Sometimes we like mountain traditional. Sometimes we just like straight, traditional or Victorian kinds of things. And what we do is help ferret that out and define what your interests are in a way that makes sense, because it's not easy to take a variety of looks and make it feel cohesive. So I think we're really good at that, and we will talk to anybody about any project. Sometimes we're going to do a consult, and we're going to give them a lot of really good ideas and send them on their way, as opposed to saying, we need to enlist ourselves as your design team. And other times we'll say, you know what? If we pull the thread, here are the nine other things that you kind of need to consider. And are you willing to take on a project that big?

AMY: [00:05:32] Yeah. Fair enough. That sounds great. I mean, that's definitely the thing with design is I think people have, yeah, taking, you know, people's different tastes and being able to combine it and make it work for them and for the space too, you know. So that's great. That's great. We are so happy to have you guys here at Enterprise. And we'll definitely post links to how people can get in contact with you if they have any design projects. And they'd like to hire you guys. And I love the fact too, that you guys are mom and son team.

ANNA: [00:06:21] We are.

AMY: [00:06:23] Yeah, that is such a cool, um, thing in business, you know, having the family involved. And I think that's just awesome.

ANNA: [00:06:35] Yeah, we didn't necessarily plan it that way. It just ended up happening. And it has been so good for the business because we're able to take on a lot more work, because being young and having studied in marketing and having been older and studied in New York City, we bring two really different perspectives to every project.

AMY: [00:06:56] Yeah, I think that's so great. That's so great. Well, do you guys have anything else to add or.

ANNA: [00:07:05] If somebody wants to stop by, say hi, has a question. We're always here to answer a question and to listen.

AMY: [00:07:12] Perfect. Thank you guys again for chatting with me. Really appreciate it. And thanks again for being part of Enterprise and our community here. We really appreciate you guys. All right. Well that's it for the Community Spotlight. Thanks again. And we will be back next month with another spotlight. Thank you.

ANNA: [00:07:36] Bye.
