LAUREN: [00:00:02] Hello and welcome back to Enterprise Coworking Community Spotlight. This month we are sitting down with Mo Tregenza, CEO and founder of levelheaded. Mo, thank you so much for sitting down with me today.

MO: [00:00:14] Thank you, Lauren, and happy to be here.

LAUREN: [00:00:17] Awesome. So let's get into it. Why don't we start with you telling us a little bit about levelheaded and what you guys do?

MO: [00:00:24] Awesome. Yeah. So levelheaded is a legal tech startup. Our mission is to make the world less litigious. You're probably wondering what that means. Basically, we know that 90 to 99% of cases settle before going to trial. And yet we engage with a lot of trial practice. And so we really focus on getting to the settlement sooner. And that's via automations and technology to augment settlement discussions through mediation. So we are developing a technical platform to help proliferate and build access to mediation. And that is essentially the process whereby the parties come together with a trained neutral and facilitate the outcome of their case on their own. And the best part is, is you get to move on with your life and avoid all the risks of the time and financial harm that will occur if you engage with litigation.

LAUREN: [00:01:22] Nice, nice. How long have you guys been in business?

MO: [00:01:27] I founded the company in 2000. Late 2022. I was funded via an incubator in Boulder in early 2023 and brought on my amazing co-founder earlier this year and have built my team since then. And that's the wonderful team that you see at the enterprise office. Some of them.

LAUREN: [00:01:50] Yes, yes, it's very interesting, very interesting work. What would you say makes level headed different from other, you know, companies in the field?

MO: [00:02:03] This is a great question. So many things. I think first and foremost we are legal adjacent, but we're not practicing law. Mediation. You typically see whether you're in a legal case that's been filed and a judge orders you to mediate, probably most prevalently in a divorce case, but it actually is used in a variety of different spaces. We focus on mediation for property disputes. So think if you have an issue with your rent, maybe the issues around habitability. Maybe you're looking at an eviction. We deal with generally specific property dispute cases between a landlord and a tenant. And then also property dispute issues as it relates to, like, ownership of property and or real property. So the sale of property. I think it's really different than the legal process because we are a tech forward, modern, friendly way to engage with the dispute. So unlike going to a really old legal site and probably finding some PDF and then going down to the courthouse, you do everything through a super easy to use platform. So it's an intake. It's like it's as easy to use Airbnb to book your vacation rental, essentially, and we are using AI to greatly augment the experience, not only for the users, but also for the mediators, to help promote dispute resolution and to help you get to that outcome even faster, so that you can move on with your life and have more money in your pocket.

LAUREN: [00:03:39] Who doesn't love those two things.

MO: [00:03:42] Right?

LAUREN: [00:03:43] That's right. Very cool. So why did you choose enterprise coworking?

MO: [00:03:48] Good question. We looked around quite a bit, and I think a lot of the spaces were not convenient to where we lived. There wasn't, like, great walkability, but they were also just not as dynamic and friendly. And when we found enterprise, I immediately knew it was the right space for us. It just has great energy. I love that there is a coffee shop in there. I love the little library. I love that it's in a really wonderful neighborhood. I love all the access to like Central Market and Crema. It's really walkable. Absolutely wonderful that you guys are dog friendly. You see our dogs around all the time. And you were super awesome. So I, I honestly we've we've like been introduced to other spaces even since being here and I'm like, nope, I love enterprise. It's amazing. You guys are amazing. It's just a great space.

LAUREN: [00:04:45] Oh, thank you so much. We really enjoy having you guys in this space. So thank you for those nice words. Well you're.

MO: [00:04:53] Awesome. So is Steve. Shout out to Steve.

LAUREN: [00:04:55] Shout out Steve. Can't forget him. So last question. Speaking to our viewers, is there anything else that you would like them to know about level-headed, about you? About whatever.

MO: [00:05:10] No. I mean, I think that in general we're all newish businesses, and I think if you are in some sort of dispute and want to know how you might be able to move through it efficiently definitely come check us out. I am an attorney by practice, but moved into this space. So if we can't help you directly, then I might have great resources of other opportunities that can and not. Right. I'm not going to send you to go file a case. I'm really focused on dispute resolution. That's before your case gets filed or before it becomes a really painful legal issue. I think the only other thing is, is that we're a new business eager to learn from other companies that are starting, especially in the tech space and especially with AI. So if you hear this or see it and are interested in learning more, or have any thoughts or considerations that might help us develop our product then my zoom room is open, so please hit me up. Morgan. Be levelheaded.com.

LAUREN: [00:06:11] Awesome, awesome. Yeah, it's very important. The service. So thank you for sitting down with us, telling us a little bit about Level Headed. We love having you guys in this space.
